Quick Reference — Progeny System

Progeny: Vampire is a free-to-play system developed by lovers of vampire lore for lovers of vampire lore. Unique within Second Life, it is the most realistic vampire roleplay system ever created — and it will not cost a single Linden unless you choose otherwise.

The Goal

The main goal of a vampire within Progeny is survival. All vampires need blood to survive — they bite humans or each other and drink their blood. There are no bite requests, no permissions required. Progeny vampires seduce their intended victims, take them private, and attack. Beyond this, it is a challenge to fit into vampire society, thrive within your house, struggle against oppression, or go it alone as an outcast.

Blood Lines & Arch Vampires

All vampires in Progeny are part of a Blood Line — a subspecies inherited from their sire, just as the sire inherited from theirs. Each Blood Line is headed by an Arch Vampire: the most ancient and powerful of all vampires. Legend holds that each Arch Vampire was gifted with vampirism by the Lord of Devils, Lachiel himself. The traits shared by all within a line are derived from the nature of the given Arch Vampire and how their physical makeup interacts with the dark power of diabolic blood.

Vampire Society

Vampire society is governed primarily by the Great Houses — each likened to a small kingdom or city-state, ruled by a King or Queen, commanding territory and a close-knit family of vampires. Each Great House belongs to one of the Greater Vampire Clans: entire nations of vampires led by the Arch Vampires themselves. Clans forge alliances and declare wars in a never-ending struggle to rule the night.

Invitation Only

The Progeny system is invitation only. The only way to enter is to be introduced by an existing player. Being embraced and reborn as a vampire is free, but the ability to sire new vampires is earned over time — making the Gift of Vampirism something taken seriously by any potential sire.

These rules govern system-wide behavior and apply to all Progeny players.

Rule 1

No biting within 30 meters of Lachiel or a Diabolic without permission.

Rule 2

Biting a Diabolic is cause for instant death and/or system ban for a minimum of 5 days.

Rule 4

Ibiza (Freebie Galaxy) is designated as lawless — no system laws are enforced there.

Rule 5

Restricted group/clan names include Outcast, Rogue (unless official), Source, Apeiron, Diabolic, Cambion, and profane or offensive terms.

Rule 6

Restricted titles unless legitimately held: Apeiron, Diabolic, Cambion, Infernal, Arch Vampire, Blood Regent, Arch Advisor, Sovereign, Co-Sovereign, Ambassador, Proxy, Princeps, Delegate, Liaison.

Rules 7–10

System scans may not be shown in public chat to non-Progeny players. Player identities and bite data must remain confidential from non-Progeny members. Revealing your own status is permitted.

Rules 14–15

System components may not be used on banned parcels or regions. Unprovoked attacks in private vampire homes require consent, except in organized roleplay with storyteller permission.

Rules 16–19

Prohibited: invisibility devices combined with system components, HUD interception, offset modifications, pushers, instantaneous movement (NPV), target-blocking devices, and third-party tracking tools.

Law 1 Inciting Cross-Bloodline War

Only the Arch of a bloodline or Blood Regent may declare a bloodline war. Clan Sovereigns and House Leaders may not invoke the bloodline's name to do so.

Law 2 Defamation of Character

Unlawful to intentionally communicate false information that harms a person's reputation or decreases the confidence in which they are held.

Law 3 Interference in Sovereignty

Thy domain is thine own concern. No outsider may challenge thy word while within thy domain.

Law 4 Fraud

No intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another.

Law 5 Public Disorder

All are free to roleplay as they see fit. Intentionally attempting to sway a person's creative style will not be tolerated.

Law 6 Treason / High Treason

Attempting by acts to overthrow the leadership of one's House or Clan is forbidden — unless the leader has been absent more than 60 days.

Law 7 Repeat Offenders

Repeat offenses can and will incur harsher penalties.

Law 8 Theft

No trickery of another to influence the payment of Linden for the opportunity of being embraced into Progeny.

Law 9 Abuse of Judicial Powers

No Judge or Lawyer in the court system will be above the law — all are created equal.

Law 10 Creating and Using Alts

Unlawful to create and use alts with the intent of causing harm to a person or property.

Law 11 Threats of Bodily Harm

No threats of bodily harm within a house or clan for changing loyalty within the System.

Law 12 Abuse of Power

Abuse of power by any player — especially House and Clan leaders — is strictly prohibited.

Law 13 Freedom of Religion

The GCSC will make no law prohibiting the freedom of religion or the free practicing thereof.

Law 14 Freedom of Speech

The GCSC will make no law prohibiting freedom of speech, including freedom of the written word.

Law 15 Protection

The GCSC has a responsibility to provide protection at the workplace against abusive attacks, except those perpetrated after a formal declaration of war.

Law 16 Due Process

Vampires of Progeny have the right to a speedy and public trial, with impartial Judges and the right of Counsel of their choice.

Law 17 Fair Punishment

Vampires of Progeny have the right to fair punishment — the punishment must fit the crime committed.

Law 18 Freedom of Choice

Vampires of Progeny have the right to go outcast if they wish to leave their current home, and the right to be informed of the official consequences.
